Paul Zagar, M.D. is a Partner at Kim IP with extensive experience servicing clients in the areas of biotechnology, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices, having practiced in law firms and in-house corporate settings.  Dr. Zagar brings a unique perspective, having practiced general and vascular surgery before entering the practice of intellectual property law.  Dr. Zagar practiced patent law practice at the intellectual property boutique Darby & Darby P.C., and later at general and boutique law firms, the US Department of Agriculture, and in-house at a flavor and fragrance company.

Dr. Zagar practice primarily focuses on patent drafting and procurement, patent opinions, technology licensing & agreements, litigation, and post-grant procedures.  Throughout his career, he has worked on formulating and carrying out protection strategies, reissuing Orange Book-listed patents in concurrent litigation, preparing freedom-to-operate and invalidity opinions for pharmaceutical companies, and opining on therapeutic antibody patents.
